Ūlos skardžiais ir laukinėmis pakrantėmis (14 km) is a medium-level trek with steep and stunning Ūla riverbanks. Don't miss the chance to check out the natural water spring, Ūla Eye.

The second half of the trip from Marcinkonys to Zervynos village is unshaded and passes through clear-cut forest sections. When hiking on a warm, sunny day, I recommend going the opposite way.

Overlanding in Varėna: Must-Know Routes and Tips for Off-Road Adventures

Overlanding enthusiasts are going to love exploring the remote Varėna parts in their vehicles. The majority of the roads through the woods are gravel or easily driveable forest roads. If you're looking for a challenge, there are narrow and less-travelled trails that could lead you to unexpected camping on the lakeshore or a hidden continental dune.

Keep in mind that only the main roads are maintained during the winter, so only venture into the snowy forest roads if you have a high clearance 4x4 with recovery gear. In the summer, heavy sand in the woods might be challenging.

Overlanders can explore the area between Rudnia, Lynežeris, Zervynos, and Marcinkonys, which offers a combination of gravel and forest roads.
